Calling all nature lovers! Just minutes from Bargara, Barolin Nature Reserve sprawls across more than 300 hectares of bushland teeming with native flora and fauna. Grab your binoculars and explore a landscape home to more than 120 species of native plants and 135 species of wildlife, including the Sacred Kingfisher, Rose-crowned Fruit Dove and Grey Fantail.
Fun fact: Barolin Nature Reserve is home to the largest stand of Silver-leaved Paperbark trees in South East Queensland. Hidden within the reserve is also one of the world's rarest plants, Clausena smyrelliana.
Distance: Up to 5 kilometres one way.

Bargara Road near Bargara State School
End of Davidson Street (best access to the rainforest and paperbark trees)
Mon Repos Road for the north-west section of the reserve
Turtle Trail intersections (two entrances)
What to bring: Water, a mobile phone, insect repellent and binoculars for birdwatching.
